No, but I would take Steve Bruce who apparently the newcs are interested in. Can't wait to see the end of BFS.

Pards is not the answer and no better than BFS IMHO.

If Pardew would have got that january window with the icelandic millions, we would not have ended up with a team full of cunts like Ljunberg, Dyer, Davenport, Quashie.

I know Curbishley has nothing to do with wages but them signings nearly brought the club down. I hate Curbishley would take Pardew or Sam over that cunt all day.

Re: If Newcastle sack Pardew would you have him back right now?
They were over-hyped by our fans because of 2005-2006.

The hype might have contributed to people playing stupid money for mediocre players like Marlon and NRC. But in the end they were mediocre players, as they proved in the rest of their career. They weren't good buys. It might not have been widely known amongst our fans, but Ashton always had injury issues way back to his Crewe days. Pardew took a risk and it didn't pay off in the end, no matter how talented he was.

Carlton and Gabbs could have been sold for massive profits? How much would you have paid for them?

Curbs? Really? Most of those players made their reputation during the 2005/6 season. Pards signed players who were undervalued and would improve.

And to the previous list you can add Benayoun, Collins, Konchesky and Mullins.

Plus Ashton, Cole, Green and Gabbidon could have been sold on for massive profits at their peak.

Re: If Newcastle sack Pardew would you have him back right now?
As for Pardew, he's very up and down as a manager. One season his teams look like world beaters. The next they look terrible.

Funnily enough, I wouldn't object to him so much after we moved into the OS. Assuming the move means we have more money to play with and we are less likely to be relegated, then a rollercoaster ride under Pardew might be fun instead of stressful.

Until then, though, no thanks.

Re: If Newcastle sack Pardew would you have him back right now?
We sold those players during Curbishley's reign. Not during Pardew's time here.

They were mediocre players who went on to do fuck all after they left us. We got TOP DOLLAR for them because Curbs made them look better than they were.

Well seeing as he's taken Newcastle to the same place that he took West Ham I'd say that you'd have to be a fucking moron to want him back.

Pocket Pardew was class. You could never get a pocket sized Sam. You'd need a rucksack.

The real Pardew is limited. At first I thought he would go on to become England manager and although he had very bad luck with Ashton injury he was found wanting during the 2006/7 season and was more style (motivational T shorts) over substance. Has some good points but we need better. Would not be a significant upgrade over the Fat One.

Re: If Newcastle sack Pardew would you have him back right now?
Pardew explained the Tevez and mascherano situation. It's not that hd didn't think they were good. If I remember rightly Tevez wasn't match fit at all and had done nothing for months before joining. I assume it was similar for mascherano.

Plus they came in at the last minute and pardew had already set up what he was going to do for that season. He had a pretty good rapport with the players is I can imagine how crazy it would be to say, "sorry Haydn, this player who's had no pre-season is going to take your place, thanks all the same" would be.

I'm not saying he's perfect but if you want a manager who can spot a talented player before anyone else or who can motivate a very average player it's pardew. Who was cabaye before Newcastle got him? Now he's partnering pogba in the french squad and is at PSG. Ba had a great run with him as well (well the first season at least ).

Allardyce buys shit after shit (maiga??). Pardew always gets undermined that's shy he fails. Selling cabaye fucked him up. Previous to that they were on target for a top 5 finish. He hadn't planned for two unfit Argentinians in his squad all summer who he had pressure to play either.

If you want attacking football he's a very good manager as long as you back him and don't undermine him. If you're planning to sell players from under him etc... Then no, he can't handle it.

It must be close to 40m with all the others as mentioned??

Ha ha, just seen MOTD, if Pards gets the sack Allardircio will be the second longest serving manager in the premiership.
